關注. This is the most important section.

Unlike the lower level facilities, your paperwork is your license to walk the yard of any penitentiary. If you’re still in the county or a regional jail awaiting trial or waiting to be transferred to the feds, please be advised, the following documents make up your paperwork.

Sentencing minutes/transcripts: these documents will show court proceedings and all dialogue.

Plea Agreement: This is for all of you who are thinking about copping out (and those who have already signed on the dotted line).

Judgment & Commitment: Usually consists of six or seven pages. These documents show all counts that you were charged with, as well as those you were found guilty of. If you owe any fines or court assessments, they can be found on one of the back pages.

Docket sheets: reveals each time you were in court, submitted any motions, or if anything regarding your case had been postponed. Most importantly, if you leave from the feds and go back to the county on some type of writ, the first thing you should do is contact the clerk’s office where you were sentenced and request an updated copy of your docket sheets.

PSR (Pre-sentence report): These documents are the most difficult to obtain. Simply because they aren’t allowed in the BOP. If they’re found in your possession, it’s considered contraband. But these papers are far from impossible to get hold of. The PSR/or PSI reveals all your prior charges dating back to a juvenile. 也, it shows your family history. The PSR is prepared by a probation officer before you’re sentenced. 所以, aside from your prior criminal history, everything else that makes up the PSR depends on what you tell the probation officer. If you plead guilty, you’re accepting responsibility. “it is said,” that one receives a two point reduction for acceptance of responsibility. Now be advised, whatever you say on that stand during your plea agreement will be documented in your PSR. These papers will reveal the “real you”.

To given it to you straight, your paperwork will show if you’re a “rat” or not. A more common term in our world is “Hot.” Don’t get me wrong, there are many people running around the system with fabricated paperwork, and have been slipping through the cracks. Sooner or later, it will catch up with them, and the consequences are always ugly.

所以, for those of you who have already cooperated with the agents and prosecutors, receiving a 5K1, substantial assistance in return, when that bus stops at your first institution, just “check in.” The moment you step foot in R&ð (Receiving & Discharge) and SIS screens you, tell them that you cannot live in the yard, then go to the hole. Because if you don’t, knowing that your paperwork isn’t right, there won’t be an easy walk “Up top.” 又名 “The Hole.” You will either be badly beaten or even worse, met by the point of someone’s icepick. Just save yourself and everyone else the trouble by “checking in”.

現在, if you’re one of the outnumbered who stood up, meaning that you did not tell, you will be good to go. At most penitentiaries, you’ll be well taken care of by those in your car. (see next chapter for more on Cars). If you’re a stand up individual, there’s usually a bag waiting for you. Depending on which pententiary you go to your bag is usually filled with hygiene items and food, to sweatsuits and shoes.

If you’re still in the County preparing to travel this way, be sure to send your paperwork home so that you can have it mailed back in once you arrive at your institution. There is no traveling from the County to the Fed with any property. No bible. No Koran. No wedding band. 無.

Once you arrive to your destination, you’re given a time frame to get your paperwork in. It can be anywhere from two weeks to thirty days. During that waiting period you should be doing everything in your power to get hold of any of the documents mentioned. Let any sports activities or card games be the last thing on your mind. When that time is up and you still haven’t gotten your paperwork, pack your things. You’re going up top, whether you’re “hot” or not. And you will remain in the hole until your shit is together.

If you’re at your second prison and you were ran up top at the last institution for not having your paperwork, best believe you’ll be going through the same rules. This type of risk is usually taken by those with something to hide. Don’t even think about it. More than likely a kite or picture has beaten you to the institution. Save yourself the drama. Just check in!

As big as the federal system is, our world is small. You will find over and over again that everybody knows somebody.

再次, if you’re an informant heading this way with a long sentence, it’s gonna be a long journey for you. 信不信由你, time flies behind these walls. 但, if you’re always checking in and in the hole, prepare for a long one.

一錘定音:

Think twice about cooperating, because those District Attorneys do not care about you once you get here. Get that paperwork or just check in!
