This is America’s Massacre

Americas-Massacre-Tewhan-Butler-book

The American dream. The American nightmare. America’s Massacre. The many young girls lost in the streets bartering their bodies, roaming from one shelter to the next, searching for some place warm to stay the night. She roams until she is approached by the pimp and his prostitute, making an offer her young mind cannot refuse. This is America’s Massacre. Sounds like a nightmare, doesn’t it? This is the same story, on the same lands, in which we are told we will find the American Dream. The dream is what she was searching for. Instead, she found dark strip clubs, cold stripper poles, endless shots of the cheapest liquor, and plenty ecstasy pills.

The American Dream. The American Nightmare. America’s Massacre. The young black male educated in his single parent home because pops is in prison and moms is always tired from working a variety of jobs just to foot the bills; taught that his life is in perpetual danger, as his skin makes him a threat. A threat to what? Too young to understand the deep-rooted seeds of racism because all he knows is “I pledge allegiance to the flag of the Untied States of America.” United? There has never been such division anywhere in the “free” world akin to Amerikkka.

America’s Massacre all began as an unremorseful attack on what none see to be as God’s gifts. In 1979 God had awarded my two struggling parents with one of the greatest gifts ever, a beautiful baby boy name Tewhan Hakim Yahyah Butler. Unfortunately, this gift would later be assaulted by America’s oppressive conditions. You know, poor educational systems, unprotecting and unserving police forces, more like armed militants determined to bring about a pseudo-peace even if that means destroying the only homes Americans know, lack of gainful employment, but plenty of manual labor outfits to keep one alive long enough to keep the cotton picked.

1979 was not when this Massacre on American soil was born. If one paid close enough attention, it was during the mid-2000s when the media was in a frenzy, blaming almost all of New Jersey’s gang problems on a young kid name Massacre. Though the media attention has dwindled, the headlines not as appealing, political figures now have their sights set on the Oval Office, all that was wrong with New Jersey then, persists today. Meanwhile, Massacre is serving a 30-years sentence in federal prison. So why is Massacre to blame? What of America? The very force which assaulted God’s gift and shaped this American Massacre. Let us not be fooled. Our beautiful young girls and boys and even our adult men and women are all God’s gifts no matter where they are born or where they reside. The problem is we are trapped on the front-lines of America’s Massacre.
