    Trumped Out

Right about now the entire world is focused on Donald Trump taking office. Everyone is concerned with Trump’s political leanings. By all means, we should have a space in our lives for politics. Hata hivyo, the state of real policy and law-making exists on such a level that the masses have very little actual insight into what’s happening. We need to focus on changing our world and make the real changes happen ourselves. Politicians will never fix the income gap between the rich and the...SOMA ZAIDI

    Time to Wake Up

It’s time to wake up! Along time ago I had to learn to accept that just as not all characters are the same, not all minds are alike. Therefore because a lesson is capable of being taught by one does not dictate that it can easily be learned by another. Certain things can be understood by certain people, but most things are likely to be misunderstood by most people. Kuangalia, I’m no athlete, actor, mwanasiasa, or any other type public figure, so I don’t have to be politically...SOMA ZAIDI

    Overcoming Emotions for Successful Reentry

For many prisoners the thought of reentry will spark a mix of emotions. Joy, excitement, anticipation will surely be among them. Tagging along in the back of your mind will undoubtedly be little brother fear. Fear of not having a stable place, or any place, to go. Fear of not being able to get a job. Fear of not being able to get by on minimum wage. Fear of old enemies looking for revenge.
