Quawntay Adams aka Bosco

What’s up everybody!

Welcome to my page. I appreciate your time and attention.

My name is Quawntay Adams, better known as Bosco. I’m from Compton, California. Right now I am locked up in United States Penitentiary Canaan, a federal prison in Waymart, Pennsylvania, serving a 35-year sentence for possession of marijuana. I’ve been incarcerated since January 2004, and I don’t know when I’m getting out. I have a clemency petition pending before the Obama Administration, and I am still slinging meritorious, yet often overlooked, motions at the courthouse window. I guess it is just a matter of time and luck if and when I’ll get out of here. Meanwhile, I keep my head up and try to make the best of it.

My reason for getting at you live from lockdown is to share with you my experiences, wisdom, and insight. Hopefully some of you will learn from me and prevent yourself and/or others from walking into the same traps I walked into. I grew up in South Los Angeles at a time when gang violence and the war on drugs was at an all-time high and ravaging the Black community. Inevitably, I became consumed with drug dealing and Cripping (Santana Block). Consequently, I’ve lost my entire youth to the system, and my life has become a prime example of the misfortunes, injustices, and inequities that plague most of our hoods. Therefore, you can learn a lot from my story.

By the same token, my story has a message of hope. One that should inspire you to find your meaning and purpose in life. One that will prove that we are not lost souls here to be destroyed and wasted. Yet, we are warriors for a cause, and our purpose is to fight to make changes that will better our conditions. We must stand up and bring structure to our hoods so that we can decrease the prison population, decrease the murder rate, and increase our health, wealth, and opportunities.

As my Brother’s Keeper, it is my duty and pleasure to encourage us to come together and rebuild our hoods and redefine what it means to be “stand-up.” In case you haven’t got the message, the flamboyant clown and fake gangster is played out–this is the era of the intelligent black man. So stay tuned and follow me.

Let’s communicate; let’s improve our hoods; let’s improve our images; and let’s be productive.
