Massacre da América: More than a book title

CAN’T YOU SEE WE’RE LIVING IN A WAR ZONE! – words from rapper T.I.

There’s a war going on and no man seems to be safe. The daily guns shots, the police sirens, justice coming out the barrel of a gun. Children slain in the streets, men gunned down in front of their wives and kids. Video footage of cold-blooded murder, shortly thereafter comes the news conferences to justify injustice. What are the times we’re living in?

EXCUSE ME AMERICA, MY NAME IS MASSACRE !

Slow singing and flower bringing, the demands for action, chanted slogans and riot gear, and Colin Kaepernick.

I’m not talking about the United States Olympic basketball headlines speaking of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and Carmelo Anthony massacring competition for the gold.

I’m talking about . . .

HANDS UP, DON’T SHOOT!
HOMEM PARA BAIXO!
CANT BREATHE!

Our parents choked out by public servants. Our children suffocated by backwards curricula in the educational system. Unbiased justice, not racial profiling or hostile pursuits due to the color of one’s skin. More people documented in prisons than America held in slavery prior to the emancipation proclamation is preposterous. We are in the center of judicial genocide. How many have to die before America on every level from the White House to Wall Street to the back blocks of Newark, New Jersey, the Brick City, #raiseup not with deceitful, manipulative speeches, empty donations or liquor store lootings, but with unification of all races, cores, and creeds? Where do we find integrity and justice in an officer gunning down one unarmed man after another then calling for peace? NO, I’m not asking for violence nor ranting to kill, but as an American citizen I have an obligation to call for justice.

* Mothers enduring sleepless nights not certain if their children will be killed in the streets by those oathed to protect and serve is Massacre da América.

* The one year old baby girl carried in her mothers arms into a prison visitation hall to visit her father not knowledgeable to what is happening or what awaits her in the future is Massacre da América.

*Michelle Alexander The New Jim Crow is but Massacre da América.

*Michael Brown’s letter to Assata Shakur:

although racist state violence has been a
consistent theme in the history of people
of African descent in north America it has
become especially noteworthy during the
administration of the first African American
president whose very election was widely
interpreted as heralding the advent of a
new post racial era.

-featured in Angela Davis’s Freedom is a Constant Struggle é Massacre da América.

*Political divide (Democrats vs.Republicans) spilling over into citizen segregation as tied to ones economic class is more important than justice for all is but Massacre da América !

*Massacre da América is the media more concerned with a presidential candidate’s facial expression than what really needs to change in America.

Philando Castela, Trayvon Martin, Freddie Gray, Alton Sterling, Tamir Rice, Walter Scott, Eric Garner, Sandra Bland, but what about Brent Thompson, Patrick Zamarippa, Michael Krol, Lorne Athens, Michael Smith e Montrell Jackson, Matthew Gerald, Brad Garafola? All lives lost, dreams vanished, futures no more, victims of Massacre da América? My point exactly: in war no man, woman or child is safe.

What is happening people? Are we returning to the time when our lives were viewed as a fraction? Are we less than? Answer then tell me why we are living in this state of chaos, hostility, and brutality like that of antebellum times?

What is it about America that causes the home of the brave to be a match of bravado between State and citizen?

Let us not view Massacre da América as a book title, the individual story of a young boy growing up in urban America, as if there are not millions of young boys in America feeding on scraps, filling themselves with mediocrity and subconscious inferiority. As if there are not young children left dangling in the uncertainty of adolescence to find their way while their fathers are warehoused for profit miles away from home in publicly traded penitentiaries of punishment. Children for whom the deck is stacked. Statistics show 1 de cada 3 young black males whose fathers have been sent to prison are likely to see a day in jail. This is Massacre da América. The millions unemployed, living in poverty, yet the United States is said to be the richest nation of them all. This is Massacre da América.

Are we fed up with making the song cry and doing nothing more than cry the blues? pessoas Desculpe, we are living in a war zone, but this is not rap. Rooftop slaughters, cold blooded murders, this is not the movies. News channels document the horror show, depicting death, grueling images, perpetuating violence, throwing gas on an already raging fire, and pumping fear into our communities leaving us more focused on death than life is Massacre da América.

Se o que está acontecendo hoje continua, mesmo em um 50% rate, our America will be filled with jail cells and body-bags instead of schoolrooms and caps and gowns.

Massacre da América leaves us morally and culturally bankrupt, morto. Maybe it’s to bring about the Zombie Apocalypse portrayed on TV. The walking dead waiting for the day we are penetrated by a hot one as they yell “drop the gun” though we have none.

The time is now people!

Let us not fail each other.

Let us accept the responsibility we have to one another and put an end to the hostilities and violence.

POWER TO ALL PEOPLE !!!
