Sometimes I find it hard to breathe,
My old self awakening.
I observe my surroundings and hate what I see.
Nobody is truly who they are.
I guess self is who they believe to be the problem.
This they will never share,
Instead they carry on as if no one is to notice,
But the windows of their soul say otherwise.
You lie!
The truth in you clouded,
The purity of your center,
No More.
And why?
Simply because you refuse to accept you,
Attempting to be who they say you should.
Until you learn to appreciate self, flaws and all;
You will be eternally departed,
Never to be found.
Footprints jaded in the sand,
A life full of suffering lost at sea.
Your denial is what drowns you.
Gather into your arms a love for self,
For hatred will grip, overpower and demoralize.
I ask,
WHO ARE YOU?
