Still surviving behind the walls despite every effort by the gate-holders and the institutional investigators who continue to harass and express counter-productive tactics against any signs of progressive work on part of the prisoner.

ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮೂಲಕ, ಇನ್ನೂ, brothers are rising and raising their individual as well as the collective consciousness. Growing into men and washing away the boys from the hood who came into the system at first entrance.

Behind these walls studying is tantamount to your survival because if you do not exercise your brain you will start to become docile and stagnated on institutionalization. What people call institutionalized. Brothers behind these walls are only preoccupied with prison politics: ಕೈದಿಗಳ’ ಬದುಕುಳಿಯುವ, who hates who, who isn’t gangster, who is a rat, and then the gossiping about street/hood affairs, and reading only hood books. This form of conduct produces the stalemate mentality of a prisoner and hinders the formal stages of the reproduction of oneself. Whereas a prisoner isn’t giving himself/herself the fighting chance to overcome. Overcome that which made it manifest destiny fulfilled for them to statistically walk directly into the traps that were set long ago, which lay so bare to the naked eye; yet like a wheel on a hill, the prisoner who puts their self at a disadvantage, poisons the chances of everyone they come into contact with, if that person has no foundation of their own.

It is easy to be blindly influenced by negative thoughts, feelings and emotions. Because on the surface they seem to fit in, complimenting the conditions of whatever environment they were developed within.

This is why a prisoner has to educate their self. Feed that brain in order to protect the product. Because we are a product. It’s just a matter of determining what kind of product we are. In American history black people began as a product and pretty much never stopped being a sort of product. It’s just now we can cash in on ourselves. In a moderate tone that would mean, we can make something of our own talents, sell our own selves and our own skills, instead of simply being exploited and used by the machine (powers that be).

The form of product that we are today depends on the social, geographical, ರಾಜಕೀಯ, and economic situations we are in at whichever time we analyze.

In the hood, we are many forms of product.

In terms of law enforcement, we are a guaranteed quota of arrests that local police officers have to make every day in order to satisfy the police commissioner’s record and legacy of being tough on crime. Like this STOP & FRISK nonsense!

On the judicial level we are the product that keeps the lawyers busy and the prosecutors and judges pushing themselves through the ranks and setting themselves up for political positions all by proclaiming victory over criminals.

In terms of materialism, we are trendsetters for fashion labels and customers at stores that can care less about us, our struggle and the future of our offspring. ಇನ್ನೂ, we let the hustlers and the rappers, actors and models, who themselves are grand products, promote these brands to us. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ Nike, Reebok, Gucci, Prada, Michael Kors, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Barney’s and more use these images and personalities to sway clientele. ಮತ್ತೆ, establishing the fact that we are a product from the time we came to America to this very minute! Not to mention media, ದೂರದರ್ಶನ, radio, internet, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ. Persuasion and influences.

With this said, some brothers have gotten smart and hip to the game and took over their own brands, including themselves and their images, and made someone in their circle their manager, agent, sponsor into any industry such as sports, ಸಂಗೀತ, acting, ಇತ್ಯಾದಿ. This form of cashing-in on oneself is open for all of us. If a brother can go from Marcy Projects and use the business of promoting “the life & times” of a nigga from Brooklyn, then you should feel mighty confident that the doors, if not open wide, are at least cracked enough for whoever aims correctly, applies themselves and goes after it relentlessly.

For the prisoners who have enough time on their hands and access to high caliber books of information similar to what would be on the shelf at a college campus, ಹೌದು, we really have to not let our brains die because having free time and being able to view the game from an objective standpoint (away from it) makes a prisoner conscious of what he/she can do after cleaning themselves up and reproducing their self and getting their piece of the American pie….
