Prison and Principle

I want to demonstrate about family, principles and prison.

Everything done in a man’s life must evolve around principles. These same principles allow you to stay true to the cause and never break originality. It’s not who we are but what we do that defines us in life. I sleep, eat and function in the same atmosphere with men who will never come home. What amazes me everyday is their ability to be productive- PROACTIVE- and remain sane despite their present position.

In USP (United States Penitentiaries) facilities respect is the difference between real men and grown boys. “Afsakið” is a manner-term used on a daily behind these walls by some of the most notorious gangsters. When you respect a man for being true to his beliefs, you must first respect that man’s mind.

Disrespect is every where in the world. Principles are being overlooked for hood status.

Behind these walls respect is running a hot nigga up for breaking the rules. Respect is putting that work in, whether with blades or hands. Respect is feeding your brothers like you feed yourself. Respect is being able to co-exist with archrivals- Mexicans, Jamaicans, Natives, and Whites- in the same unit with no problems.

Family business is the only form of business. As a Damu I mob with family and think wisely. True power comes from within the family. Strength and loyalty are the ties that bind brotherhood.

A man’s first priority is survival.

Due to my position behind these walls, training has become just as much mental as physical. Pressure can’t penetrate a solid foundation. Photographic memory and emotional discipline are imperative in this type of atmosphere. Það er eins og þetta… Men, in general, if they are stand-up men, are always loyal. Þó, loyalty can be a man’s downfall, if it ain’t pit in proper perspective.

On the strength of our loyalty we tend to place ourselves under obligations to those we are close to. Everything in life has an extreme and a bare minimum. The best thing a man can do is find a firm course in the middle and hold on.

In here brotherhood is more important than anything else. Real men put their minds to what they want to do and they do it. That’s what it’s all about in the endgetting the job done.

For a man to be victorious, he must first see his victory, then believe that it is possible.
