Cory Booker and the media

Lester Alford, a leader of the Fruit Town Brims, a faction of the Bloods gang, continues to question allegations he was behind a plot to assassinate Newark Mayor and United States Senate candidate Cory Booker. In the following article, Alford underscores the fact that Booker alleged he was targeted more than once by the Bloods. Alford vows to continue to provide documentation about the situation in effort to tell the full story. Do you think street gangs had a reason to target Booker or is this just another example of Cory Booker playing the media to portray the image he so desires? The “tough on crime” image hasn’t panned out and the streets of Newark are just as violent, if not more, than when Booker took office with a promise to get tough on crime and gangs. Do you think Cory Booker’s record as Mayor of Newark qualifies him for the U.S. Senate, or is it his ability to play the media, which makes him a serious contender?
