Chicago: They Don’t Really Care About Us

Gun-Violence-Chicago

A thousand pardons for taking longer than usual to provide you with some thought provoking material. I have been preoccupied with my ultimate objective- regaining my freedom! I was also patiently waiting to see if I would receive a response from the Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, Father Michael Pfleger of Saint Sabina Church and a few other pastors throughout Chicago. I sent each of the aforementioned a letter titled “Saving Our Youth, Communities and Innocent Lives . . Now!” as well as a copy of my previous post on Live from Lockdown “Crime Pays: You Do The Dishes”. The letter spoke of my frustration with these inept community leaders, police and politicians who continuously spread propaganda about the cause of violence in Chicago and their plans to stop it. Years later, nothing has changed. And the reason for this is because they really do not want anything to change. Why? Well it’s quite simple. The more violence, the more they get paid. That is why I included the “Crime Pays: You Do the Dishes” post to strengthen my argument. I also spoke of the blueprint I created to decrease the murders of our youth and innocent people in Chicago, as well as sexual assaults on women and children by 33-50% within two years, guaranteed! All without wasting millions of dollars, as has been the case for years. This money could be used to keep our schools open and to pay teachers, instead of layoffs and school closures. I invited Mayor Emanuel and the others to reach out to me so we could have a meeting of the minds and begin to save our youth, communities and innocent lives . . .now! No wonder I have not received a response. In the words of the late, great Michael Jackson, “The don’t really care about us.” And that’s okay because the sooner we analyze, realize and recognize this, the better off we will be. I say this because it will force us to do for ourselves, instead of waiting on others to do for us. It’s time to plan, plot, strategize, and execute. Where I’m from actions speak louder than words. And if you’re not walking it better than you talk it, you’re not really talking about anything. Feel me?

In my next post I will share my blueprint and speak directly to my teenage brothers and sisters in hopes of saving them some heartache and pain. Until then, I leave you with this:

Those who have a clear view of the past have a clearer perspective on the future.

Be well, stay safe and continue to follow me on Live from Lockdown.
